National Assembly of Malaysian Students in America (NAMSA)

As Salam and Good Evening!
On October 18th 2015, the National Assembly of Malaysian Students in America (NAMSA) was successfully launched during the West Coast Malaysian Students Leadership Summit 2015, which was wonderfully organized by NAMSA – West Coast Chapter (WCC).
NAMSA is a student run organization dedicated to serve the current and future Malaysian students studying in the United States. They aspire to be the body that will unite Malaysian student associations and to forge beneficial relationships between students all over the country. NAMSA aims to facilitate the sharing of our joint resources for the benefit of the students by organizing and establishing impactful and enriching events and programs promoting self-development in leadership, entrepreneurship and professionalism.
The launching of NAMSA brought upon a group of student leaders led by Mohamad Ihsan Ahmad Nordin as the President of the National Assembly of Malaysian Students in America (NAMSA) for the 2015/2016 term. The current board members consists of student leaders spanning the country starting in California to Colorado to New York, and many more in between. The full list can be seen in the attached picture.
The committee of this year, under Ihsan’s leadership, envisions NAMSA to focus in:
– Welfare – Caring for Malaysian students coming to the US, and are currently in the US.
– Career Development – Providing opportunities for students to develop careers and polish leadership skills
– Civic Awareness – Instilling the spirit of giving back to Malaysia in every way possible, including intellectual progression and volunteering.
We wish them well in embarking their journey as leaders of Malaysian students in the United States, and we hope they can fulfill their responsibilities with dedication and passion.
