The East Coast Festival (ECFest) 2015 is the region’s first ever Malaysian festival of its nature. It is a collective student effort by Malaysian Students Associations at Penn State University (Penn State Malaysian Students Club), Drexel University (Drexel University Malaysian Students Association (MSA), the Malaysian Students’ Debate Club (MSDC) and US East Coast Presidential Council (US.EPIC) with the backing and support of Education Malaysia Washington D.C.
#ECFest2015 stemmed from the passion for a previous sports event, Futsal Piala Duta 2014. From just a small futsal competition, #ECFest2015 has evolved into a more wholesome event. The weekend festival consists of three major components; East Coast Games, Debat Piala YB Menteri Belia dan Sukan and Battle of the Bands that will not only push an individual’s physical strengths, but also challenge one’s intellectual capacity and encourage one’s musical inclination.
Happening on the 6th to 8th March 2015 at Penn State University, we are more than proud to announce that the Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Khairy Jamaluddin will be officiating #ECFest2015 during his week long visit to the US. All Malaysians in the United States and Canada are more than welcome to participate and join us! Like our Facebook page and stay tuned for more details that will be released soon.
